My love affair and commitment to bringing about sustainable change in Haiti began in 1997, when my wife and I traveled to Haiti to visit our son, who was in the Peace Corps. As the founder of the Haitian Timoun Foundation (established 2000), I am privileged to work with and walk alongside some of the most courageous and entrepreneurial Haitians and US Americans who share a common mission – to foster hope and sustainability with dignity for the children of Haiti.  The children and people of Haiti have proven to be my best teachers!  I invite you to learn more about two organizations who are transforming lives in Haiti.

The Haitian Timoun Foundation

The Haitian Timoun Foundation (HTF) is a grassroots movement committed to changing the trajectory of poverty in Haiti. They help Haitians break free from poverty by providing life-giving investment and empowerment to write a new story. Working with trusted local partners in Haiti, they fund and support programs that encourage and empower its people to create lasting, generational change.

HTF is called to nourish the human spirit in Haiti and help pave a pathway so ALL Haitians have value and thrive.

The Haitian Education and Leadership Program

The Haitian Education and Leadership Program (HELP) exists to create through merit and needs-based scholarships, a community of young professionals and leaders who will promote a more just society in Haiti. They envision a Haiti where every Haitian has access to quality education, the opportunity to live up to his or her potential, and the ability to contribute to a just and prosperous society.

HELP is committed to empowering Haiti’s youth with education, leadership development, and resources to be the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
